BLACK WEAVEON

The Guardian of London Black Community

About

BLACK WEAVEON — GUARDIAN OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY is an original London-set superhero saga created and written by Delroy McKay. Centered on Iesha Jones, a Brixton hairdresser whose carved ring “weaves” sound, motion, and light into living armor, Black Weaveon blends epic action, humor, and heart with a grounded love for real London neighborhoods. She protects first, fights second—and always leaves with proof. Protect. Prove. Weave On.

Conceived as a feature-film franchise with companion comics, Black Weaveon reimagines heroism as protection and participation. From Windrush Square to Electric Avenue, Iesha shields her community, melts “non-lethal” traps into safe exits, and exposes high-tech abuses with receipts the system can’t ignore. The world introduces the Civic Response Directorate (CRD) and its elite enforcers—Facial Recognition and Stop & Search—formidable forces Black Weaveon must outthink, outfight, and out-document.

The look is iconic: a near-black suit with a woven gold emblem and cornrow-inspired seams, the Weaveon Ring that triggers her transformation, rooftop glide-lines, and the stealth Weavecycle. Action set-pieces across London—night markets, skybridges, riverfronts, and Carnival—deliver spectacle without losing the intimacy of a woman who still clocks into work, braids hair, and checks on her neighbors.

Black Weaveon is now building toward production with scripts, artwork, and a growing universe of characters. Explore pages, meet the cast of the world, and join the community as we develop the story for screen and print.
